Our Work

Poverty Response

'Tek Ura has changed this area, helping people in times of crisis'

There is currently no charge for these activities but donations to cover the costs are gratefully received.

Crisis Support

This element of Qendra Tek Ura ministry is relatively broad in its scope of service, ranging from supporting families with heaters and lamps during the winter season too providing financial support (% of the costs) for medicines and school books.

Beneficiaries of this program are typically well known to the Tek Ura.

The programme generally provides relief support, however empowering and building capacity remain significant components.

Foodbank

Food Bank was established to support families experiencing from food poverty.

Once a fortnight people registered in this program receive a bag containing a range of staple food products (rice, pastor, oil sugar) and cleaning/hygiene products (soap, washing detergent).

Drop-in

Monday afternoons, Thursday mornings

at Tek Ura

At Drop in there is an opportunity to meet with our qualified social worker.

During this time, she will speak with attendees about issues facing them, share about the ways people could be involved with Tek Ura and projects that may be suitable.

She will also and signpost to other local services as needed.

Anyone is welcome to attend Drop in and it is the primary way new people can find out more about Tek Ura.

Parents can attend with children if needed and it is a welcoming space and time for all.

Timebank

in Kafja e Rremes

This is a way for people to help others in their community and be rewarded for it – in time.

For every hour of time you give helping someone, you receive one time credit.

Anyone can join but you must live in the Kafja e Rremes area.

Age, ability, lack of finance or limited mobility are not barriers to participating in the time bank.
